Apples, Strawberries, and...Goats

Fall is here again so time for our annual fruit picking excursion. We headed back to Swanton Pacific Ranch in Davenport since it was likely to be the least crowded. Also, we could knock out both apple and strawberry picking in one trip. We were a little too early for fujis this year but filled up a bag of jonagolds - great for pies and baking.

After apple picking it was a short drive to the strawberry fields. Colin left the picking to us and just sat on the ground eating all the strawberries. By the time we were finished he was covered head to toe with dirt and strawberry juice!

We also stopped by the store for some more treats: cheesecake with strawberry sauce, berry shortcake, chocolate covered strawberries, and samples of jam. It was a yummy outing!

The next day we took a spontaneous trip to Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay. We've been coming here pretty regularly, since Groupon always has a great deal for unlimited rides. The farm was all set up for Halloween already, so we got to enjoy all the decor without the crowds. 

Colin is all about the pony rides these days.

I fell IN LOVE with this baby goat named Oreo. I was in the goat pen forever with him and didn't want to leave. You have to admit he's pretty cute!
