I'm THREE!

I am three years old! My birthday was an eventful day filled with family, friends, and surprises. Here's what I did:

I had a birthday party! (More details to come later.)

I opened presents.

My Little Pony! I love My Little Pony!

We cooled off in my turtle pool. Did I mention it was a crazy hot day?

I tried to give Brady a bath, but I think we need a bigger pool.

I painted with my new watercolors. I got a kick out of seeing the water change color every time I dipped my brush, and struck a pose for each color.

"Red!"
"Blue!"

I ate my favorite mac n' cheese for dinner at Urban Bistro.

And to top it off, after dinner we went to the park where I got my biggest surprise of the day.

I love my new purple scooter! I've been wanting a scooter ever since I saw some of my preschool friends riding theirs after class. I finally got my own! And it didn't take me long to figure out how to ride it.

What a day! At bedtime, I told Mommy exactly how I felt about my birthday:

Mommy: You're three now! You're such a big girl!
Me: I don't want to be three.
Mommy: You don't? How come?
Me: Because I want to be four.

It's gonna be a long year...

Ryan's Ride

My first bike race! We joined hundreds of kids in downtown Burlingame for Ryan's Ride, a bike race for kids. I was really excited to ride my tricycle.

Before the race, with Braden and Kiera (and Brady)
Waiting at the start line. There were several waves for the 4 and under group to ensure we all had enough space to ride.
And we're off!

Mommy was surprised at how fast I pedaled (and how well I steered). I rode the entire course (200 meters) without stopping!

Daddy and Brady were waiting for me at the finish.

At the finish, we all got a medal, ribbon, and an ice cream. Mommy was so proud of me. :)

K and Brady

A collection of random photos of Kaitlyn and Brady from the past two months. Watch as he grows bigger and bigger! Kaitlyn really loves her puppy (and so do we).

At five months old, Brady has quickly outgrown Kaitlyn (he is currently 57 lbs vs. her 29 lbs). But his large size doesn't seem to faze her and she loves giving him hugs and kisses and cuddling with him.

Brady really is a mellow dog and has a great temperament. He is so patient and tolerant of Kaitlyn, and puts up with all of her "games."

They're so cute to watch together, we couldn't ask for a better pet for Kaitlyn to grow up with.

Father's Day

My daddy is #1! For Father's Day, I made Daddy this pimp cup trophy at daycare. I also made him this picture frame at preschool, complete with a photo of me and my normal picture face.

Daddy loves to take Brady out and socialize him, so on Sunday we took a leisurely stroll through Stanford shopping mall, then had lunch at one of Daddy's favorite burger joints on University Ave.

We then spent the afternoon at Caitlyn's birthday party at Scribble Me Happy, a cute little art studio in downtown San Mateo. We each worked on a special art project. I had just woken up from a nap in the car so was in a grumpy mood, but eventually I got into it.

Me and Braden.
My finished art project!
Me and Caitlyn opening party favors - I couldn't wait til we got home. When Mommy asked me if I had fun at the party, I said that I liked opening the presents.
It was a fun day spending quality time with Daddy!

Breakfast at the Fire Station

Our local fire station held an annual pancake breakfast last Saturday, so we went to check it out. After enjoying some fluffy pancakes and a fat slice of ham, we got to see the fire trucks up close.

My favorite part was ringing the bell on the fire truck. It was very loud.

It was a fun morning!

Fun at the County Fair

We had lots of fun at the San Mateo County Fair this weekend. There was so much to see and do.

I got to go on my first pony ride, which I loved. I also had fun feeding the goats and brushing the llama at the petting zoo.

County fairs are fun because they're a good excuse to eat junky food, especially giant turkey legs, ice cream cones and funnel cake.

There's also lots of fun carnival games. I won two prizes with Daddy's help!

Being just under 36" I was barely able to go on any rides, but Mommy and Daddy managed to sneak me into a few.

I probably shouldn't have gone on the giant slide though:

Oops. There were tears, but I got over it quickly. In fact, right after we walked away, I pointed at the giant ferris wheel and said "I want that!" Maybe next year.

All in all, it was a great day at the fair!

Lil' Sprouts

Kaitlyn's last day of preschool was last Thursday. The year just flew by, and it seems like the "Lil' Sprouts" were just starting to get to know each other better. They will meet again as "Cottage Kids" in the fall.

One of the best parts of preschool was picking her up after class. The teachers let each student out one by one, and the kids always look so happy running to their mommies/caregivers. I'm going to miss this.

Here's one more, taken on the last day of class.

The teachers also made a scrapbook for each student filled with photos taken during the school year. So cute!
