Mother's Day

This year was my first Mother's Day as a mom. It was actually more like a Mother's Day weekend, because Prentice offered to take morning duty on both Saturday AND Sunday! Kaitlyn usually wakes up between 6-7am and plays hard for at least two hours before her morning nap, so being relieved from morning duty is a huge treat (especially this morning, when she decided to wake up at 5:45am). I got to sleep in past 9am on both days!

I received my first ever Mother's Day gift from Kaitlyn. She had a little help at daycare, but I was so surprised and touched to receive my first piece of art from her.

I even received flowers at work on Friday. I brought them home so I could enjoy them over the weekend.

Finally, Prentice cooked dinner for the whole family, including my mom and grandma.

I know Mother's Day is meant to be a day to show how much you appreciate your mom, but now that I'm a mom myself, I feel it's more like a day to appreciate being a mom. I feel so lucky to be Kaitlyn's mommy and it just gets more and more rewarding each day. 

I would love getting to sleep in more often though...
