I am 22 months old (and silly as ever)! This month went by so quickly! Just a few quick updates:
- Talking: I know well over 200 words and we can no longer keep track of all the new ones. Phrases were big this month, including: pee pee potty, poo poo potty, I don't know, I did it, up and down, where is it? and there it is! I also use possessive nouns more and point out if something belongs to Mommy or Daddy.
- I can count to ten in English and Spanish! I like to hold my fingers up while counting too, but still don't know how many to hold up.
- Singing: I'm getting better at singing along to the ABC song and can get about 90% of the letters right. I've also been heard humming the entire melody on my own...or is it Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?
- My favorite things (this month): It was all about Dora this month: Dora coloring books, Dora stickers, Dora apps, Dora the TV show, and Dora the life-size doll (at daycare). That chica is talented. I even memorized and can sing along to the Dora theme song. Other obsessions this month: drawing and coloring, slides at playgrounds, and as usual, all animals.
- Reading: I've gotten very opinionated about which books we read at bedtime, and will shake my head no if I don't want to read a certain book. As if that weren't enough, I've also been playing favorites and demanding who gets to read to me. The majority of the time I pick Mommy, and if Daddy starts reading, I'll shake my head no and grab the book from his hands. Poor Daddy.
- I can reach things! I finally figured out that I can take the step stool for my play kitchen and use it to reach other things around the house, including the kitchen counter, dinner table, and even to climb up onto Mommy and Daddy's bed. It's funny to watch me carry that step stool all over the house.
- Shoe dilemma: I've been refusing to wear any new shoes, aside from the three pairs I currently own. Mommy has been trying to get me some new shoes to wear with all my cute dresses, but I refuse to cooperate. Even if she manages to get a pair on me, I'll refuse to stand on my feet and try to yank them off. I even caused a scene in the shoe store today. Who knew shoe shopping for a girl could be this hard?
