When it was my turn, I got to pick out a new toothbrush and show the nice lady how I brush my teeth. They played a Dora movie for me on the flat screen tv on the ceiling, but I refused to lay down in the long chair. Instead I sat in a chair next to Mommy. Then, we met with the "doctor." Since I was a new patient, Mommy got a long introductory lecture on how germs feed on the sugars in my mouth and cause cavities, how I should limit snacking and drink water after every meal, blah blah blah. Finally, he started to inspect my teeth. I was so fascinated and curious with what he was doing that I sat still and did everything he asked. He counted my teeth, poked them with this spiky thing, then polished them with this spinning toothbrush. He even did this cool trick with the spinning brush - he touched it to each of my fingers and made them spin. It totally made me giggle. He then flossed and put a coat of fluoride on my teeth.
I was such a good girl during the teeth cleaning. Afterward, I got to pick two prizes from the treasure chest. Now every night when Mommy brushes my teeth and asks if I want to see the dentist again, I reply with an enthusiastic "yes!"
Good job, Kaitlyn Bear! Alex and Kieran love to go to the dentist, too! Don't worry -- pretty soon you'll really dig those movies on the ceiling. In exciting tooth news, Kieran has his first loose tooth!
