Colin's Birth Day

Baby Colin arrived two weeks early with very little notice. It was Saturday just after midnight, and I had just gotten into bed when my water broke.  Good thing we live three minutes from the hospital. And thankfully, the Chiu's live across the street from us so Gigi was able to come over in the middle of the night to stay with Kaitlyn. Within half an hour, I was checked into triage, 4cm dilated, experiencing strong contractions, and begging for the epidural. After what seemed like forever, I was finally assigned to a delivery room. Two short hours and two pushes later, Colin was born!

Prentice got to assist with the delivery and catch Colin when he came out. It was a pretty cool moment when the gender of our baby was finally revealed and he called it out, and it made all those months of not knowing totally worth it.

He was born with a whole lotta hair on his head

Kaitlyn was super excited to meet her baby brother for the first time and came to the hospital the next morning. She was very gentle and sweet with him. After that, she just enjoyed hanging out in the room with us since she got to watch cartoons on TV, eat jello, and visit the nourishment rooms for juice and snacks.

First picture as a family of four!

Since Colin was born early in the morning on Saturday, we had to spend two full days and nights in the hospital. It was nice having the nurses around to take care of us, but I recovered pretty quickly and was anxious to go home by the last day. There really wasn't much to do but take tons of photos.

Taking the newborn hearing test.
Big sister gift from Colin. Kaitlyn had been asking for this dragon Stuffie after watching the commercials on TV.

Finally going home!
