The Tans' Spring Visit

Alex and Kieran were on Spring Break so the Tans came to visit us for the week. Even though I had school, it was nice to have a house full of people to come home to. On the first day, Mommy dropped me off at school and a half hour later, got a call from the office that I wasn't feeling well and to pick me up. Uhhhh-huh. I spent the rest of my "sick day" playing with Alex and Kieran and going out to lunch. Best sick day ever!

I also enjoyed extra snuggles with super-soft Chewie.

Even better was having someone to snuggle in bed with all night (since Mommy and Daddy always want to sleep in their own bed).

It was a fun week with lots of good eats. And of course, topped off with homemade pizookie!

Warriors!

I am a huge fan of the Warriors. Mostly because my kindergarten teacher from last year and lots of kids at school love the Warriors. And I figured I might as well jump on the bandwagon. I love watching them play on TV and cheering them on, and had been asking if we could go to an actual game sometime. Little do I know that tickets are not easy (or cheap) to come by, especially for a weekend home game. Luckily for me, Daddy figured it would be a fun daddy-daughter outing and after much research and optimizing, he got a pair of tickets and surprised me with the news. I waited excitedly all week for the game. It was such a big deal that I even marked on my calendar that the day before was "Warriors Game Eve."

Daddy bought me a new hat!

Our seats were high up in the nosebleeds but I didn't care. It was exciting just to be there with all the people and the energy. They played music throughout the game and I danced in my seat the entire time. All the snacks and treats helped too!

Too bad Steph Curry wasn't playing that night. At least I got to see him on the big screen.

Here's my official journal entry from my school journal:

On Saturday April 8th, 2017 I went to the Warriors game. When we got there, there was a long line but it went pretty fast. I really wanted a hat so we bought one. Then we ordered our food. I had a hot dog. I also had a pretzel. When I sat down I was so lucky because nobody was sitting in front of me. At the end, the Warriors won the game. And I think the score was 107 to 82 I think. I had so much fun and I want to do it again.

Spring Breakin'

We had a week off for Spring Break with absolutely no plans, so we spent the week hanging out, going on random outings, and just enjoying being able to sleep in and not have to rush each morning to get to school. It was just what I needed.

Those Harry Potter glasses make journal writing so much easier.

On one of the days that Colin was in daycare, Mommy and I went to visit the Hiller Aviation Museum. The best exhibit was the nose section of a Boeing 747. There was an upstairs and downstairs cabin with seats, as well as an entire cockpit. It was really cool! The rest of the museum was not as interesting, at least for me, but the main reason for going was to see the Happy Birds performance. It was an entertaining show of parrots doing all kinds of tricks, including riding scooters, bicycles, flying tricks, and talking and singing. It was totally up my alley and I loved the whole performance.

Finally, on Friday we went to the much anticipated grand opening of the new Village Park playground. It had been closed all winter and they had a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its opening. Everything was so new and clean - hope it stays that way for awhile!

My 3rd Birthday Party

I had my third birthday party at Junior Gym in San Mateo. I had been to several parties here before and always loved it, especially the zip line. Almost all my friends in my preschool class came to celebrate with me. Mommy liked that it was well organized, easy to set up, and all we had to do was bring food and show up (although the party planner in Mommy always makes things more difficult than they should be).

I've been really into dinosaurs lately, so we had dinosaur-themed favors, some decorations, and a cake with little dinosaurs all over it. After all that work, Mommy totally forgot to take pictures though, oh well!

Most of the party was spent running around so fast that Mommy just got a bunch of blurry photos.

Here I am, at my own party, still doing the zipline even after the group activity started.

Totally blurry photo but the parachute was my favorite!

They sang Happy Birthday to me under the parachute and I just sat there frozen
The best photo that Mommy had of the cake! She originally planned to do a dinosaur-shaped pull-apart cupcake cake, but ended up with a baking disaster. So the day of the party, she ended up serving boxed cake mix cupcakes for the kids, then got a ready-made cake from Safeway and decorated with dinosaur figurines. It actually turned out pretty cute! The dinosaurs surrounded a cupcake (volcano?) which I ate. I loved it!

We ended the day opening presents at home. It was a great way to cap off my week-long birthday celebration!

Three

I am three years old! On my birthday, I went to day care where we celebrated all of the March birthdays. We had donuts for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and cupcakes. Nothing says birthday like lots of sugar and junk food!

Since it was a weekday, we kept it low key. I got to open one of my presents from Alex and Kieran. Mommy and Daddy got me a Strider balance bike, but they waited until the weekend to give it to me.

We capped off the day with an ice cream cake. I had been waiting for this day when I could blow out my own candles!

South Lake Tahoe

After our first trip to Tahoe and seeing how much snow there was, Mommy realllly wanted to go back and snowboard herself. So we convinced Ma-ma and Yeh-yeh to join us in South Lake Tahoe for a quick weekend trip. This time, we went to Heavenly Mountain since it was one of the few ski resorts that had on-site childcare for Colin. They stuck me in ski school, Colin in day care, and Mommy, Daddy, Ma-ma and Yeh-yeh all got to ski together.

It was a perfect day with awesome conditions.

Mommy checked in on me and Colin at lunchtime and it seemed like we were both having a blast. Colin always seems to adapt well to "new special preschool" situations. And at the end of the day, Mommy and Daddy found me at ski school and I got to go on a few runs with them.

Looks like the lessons paid off. I loved skiing and was excited that I finally got to ride the chairlift!

It was a fun day and Mommy was happy that she finally got to snowboard after all these years.

Before our drive home, we stopped by the lakeside to enjoy the scenery.
