Last week, we flew down to Orange County for a long weekend. It was my first plane ride! I even got my own boarding pass.

7 Month Update
This update is a little late, but here are a few things I have accomplished in my seventh month:
- I weigh 15 lbs, 6.5 oz. I gained another pound this month!
- I'm sleeping through the night! Finally! Just a month ago I could only sleep an average of 7 hours at a time before waking up and wanting to be fed. Then Mom and Dad started ignoring my middle-of-the-night wakings and made me cry it out. It was tough, but it worked. This past week I slept consistently for 10-11 hours straight, from 7pm to 6am!
- I can sit up. Although I'm still a little wobbly and fall over sometimes, I started sitting up on my own about a week ago.
- I started formula. With me eating more during the day and Mom going back to work, she just couldn't keep up with me any more. We started supplementing with formula so I would have enough bottles at day care during the day. Now I finish four 6-oz bottles every day (4 oz of breastmilk topped off with 2 oz formula). It's not ideal, but a growing baby's got to eat!
- Speaking of eating, I'm loving solid foods! My favorites are sweet potatoes and oatmeal. Mom and Dad are just happy that I love food as much as they do. :)

Birthday Party
Last weekend I went to Kiera's 4th birthday party. I had so much fun playing and discovering new things. They even had a lady come and make really cool balloon figures. Check out the birthday girl's princess hat!
My new friend Caitlyn shared her Baby Mum-Mum with me. Not only do Caitlyn and I have the same name, but we were also born one day apart!
I LOVED the Baby Mum-Mum.
I also discovered a whisk.
And a hula-hoop.
And spent some quality time with Daddy.
I can't wait til I'm older and can have my own birthday parties!

Owls
I've had such an obsession with owls lately. I never gave them a second thought when I was decorating Kaitlyn's room. Then again, I was obsessed with sheep at the time. Anyway, lately I've noticed so many cute toys and nursery items that center around owls. With big round expressive eyes and bold patterned feathers, I can see how babies would be fascinated by them too. If I had to decorate all over again, I would definitely consider going with an owl theme (as a plus, it's gender-neutral too).
Someone had given us one of these owl blankies as a gift. Maybe it will become Kaitlyn's lovey.

Half a year
Happy New Year! I celebrated my first holiday with Mom, Dad, and both sets of grandparents. It was a fun Christmas and I got lots of toys! I'm so spoiled.
I am also half a year old now! Just six months ago I entered this world and I have not looked back since. Every day is a new adventure and I just keep growing and discovering new things.
I am also half a year old now! Just six months ago I entered this world and I have not looked back since. Every day is a new adventure and I just keep growing and discovering new things.
- I weigh 14 lbs, 6 oz. and am 24 inches long. My weight gain has definitely slowed down the past two months, but I'm officially double my birth weight!
- I recognize different people and faces. When I get dropped off at day care in the morning I smile at the sight of Johanna. And my face lights up when I see Dad at the end of the day picking me up (although I still look right past Mom). I also have a special smile for Grandma (or I'm smiling because she makes funny noises at me).
- I can track moving objects. Especially Mom or Dad when they're walking across the room and the other is holding me.
- New favorite pasttime - hanging in my Jumperoo! Soooo fun! Other things I love include grabbing the ladybug that hangs in the carseat, and playing with the spinning toys on the Exersaucer and Jumperoo.
- I've been eating solids for two weeks now. I've only had rice cereal and oatmeal so far, and most of it ends up on my hands/face than in my mouth. But I enjoy eating from a spoon and happily open my mouth when it comes toward me. Next up - avocados!
- I love myself. Seriously, every time I see my reflection in any mirror I smile.
