Maui Beaches

We wanted to explore some other beaches in Maui other than the one at our resort so we found two that were a short drive away. The first was Napili Bay, which we discovered during our last trip a few years ago. It is Mommy's favorite beach in Maui and popular for its tidepools and sea turtle sightings.

As part of my independent study while I was on vacation, I had to write a short story. I decided to write about our outing to Napili Bay.

One sunny and cold day I was on the beach. I was so excited! I was there with my mommy and daddy and my brother Colin.

I went swimming and there were tidepools. At the tidepools I saw fish. I was hoping to see a sea turtle.

And suddenly we saw people stand at the rocks. Maybe it was a sea turtle but we don't know? It is a sea turtle!

It was another fun day. I liked the turtle. After all that we packed up our buckets and shovels and sand rakes. Then we went to the hotel room. The End.

We also took an excursion to Baby Beach in Lahaina. This was a much calmer beach with little waves and shallow waters, perfect for babies hence the name. Colin and I loved wading in the water and I even saw some fish using my goggles. I wish I had discovered snorkeling earlier - this beach would have been perfect! It wasn't crowded at all and we spent a few hours playing and building sand castles.
