Calistoga Getaway

Daddy got a new job and was lucky enough to have a few weeks off before he started. Just in time for summer break! We took advantage of it and spent a few days at Indian Springs Resort in Calistoga. Quaint, modern, and relaxing all at the same time, while also being super kid friendly, it was the perfect getaway!

There were communal bikes around the resort for everyone to use. Colin and I brought our bikes too and we enjoyed our evening family bike rides around the grounds.

There were also hammocks and lawn games, a children's playground, and a chicken coop!

Enjoying some tasty treats that we picked up from Bouchon Bakery on the way up.

Yummy dinner at Sam's Social Club, the on-site restaurant.

The main attraction of the resort is the natural mineral pool. Heated by the surrounding hot springs, the water was so warm and comfortable, you could go in and out of the water without ever feeling cold. There was a shallow end that made it easy for kids hang out, and lots of floaties and noodles for people to use. It was definitely the highlight of our stay.

Mommy even enjoyed a spa treatment one morning and took a mud bath!

Aside from the resort, we took an outing and visited some wineries. Turns out, a lot of wineries nowadays cater to kids as well. Colin fell asleep in the car, so while Daddy stayed with him, Mommy took me to Castela di Amoroso. We went mainly to explore the castle, but they also served me grape juice while Mommy did some wine tasting.

Then we went to Sterling Vineyards. Definitely a fun place for kids to visit because of the aerial tram to get up there. We also got little backpacks with coloring books, toys, and juice.

Before our trip home, we stopped at Sonoma TrainTown for more rides and fun. It was a great midweek getaway!
