Last Day of 1st Grade

School is out! We had quite a celebration for our last day of school. First, all the first grade classes got together and performed a little musical for the parents. We sang about Aesop's Fables and I was a narrator for one of the stories.

Back in the classroom, Ms. Semple gathered us all together and gave each student a special award. She is such a special teacher and was able to find a unique quality in each of her students. At one point she cried and made all the parents cry too - it was very emotional!

We had a small class party and said goodbye to our mealworms.

After school, there was an unofficial school picnic on the field. It is tradition for all the kids to gather and have a huge water fight. Last year was too cold so we skipped it, but this year the weather was perfect and we spent all afternoon squirting water guns and throwing water balloons. My friends and I were one of the last ones to leave. It was a great end to a great year!
